With the world undergoing a major shift in attitude towards global warming and the effects that mankind is having on the planet, many people are looking at alternate ways to power their home, therefore many people are looking at how to build a wind turbine. While the average person may think that this is well beyond their means, this is simply not the case. Building a wind turbine isn't difficult as long as you have a plan.
Sourcing materials is usually the hardest part of the project but in saying that the materials you need can be found in any general hardware store. Some of the materials that you may require are disk magnets, magnetic wire or copper wire, glue, LED, eye screws and washers, pen , paper , tape and of course a bit of time to construct it all.
Before you even wonder How to build a wind turbine you should consider where you live. It comes as no surprise that you location will have a major effect on whether you wind turbine is going to be effective or if it is even worth constructing it. For a wind turbine to run optimally it needs to have a good supply of air/wind flow. If there are hedges or trees around where you plan to construct the wind turbine then this is not very good. Additionally if you are in a built up area and there is no wind flow then you may have to look at constructing a different type of wind turbine as the one you initially planned to use may be of no use any more.
If all checks out with the wind flow where you propose to build it then there could be one more consideration if you are in a city area that is your neighbors’. Now while you may think it's a great idea to save the planet and your pocket, your neighbors’ might think differently. Some wind turbines can be quite noisy so it is worth either checking with your neighbors’ that it is alright to construct near them or again you may have to look for alternate and quieter designs. This is why you may want to find a good guide that shows you how to build a wind turbine and offers you alternate designs.
